MLM is a relationship business. It’s more about building relationships with people than making sales.
Focus on building a team and you are in business; but focus on sales and you are out!!
Will you will agree with me when I say that there are many people out there signing up lots of people into their opportunity but once that signup is complete, that is the last time there will ever be contact between the two- Upline and Downline? The Upline makes his sign up commission and that is it. The poor downline is left to fend for themselves and if they are not determined to make it on their own, they eventually quit.
This also reminds me of another scenario. You meet a networker and they say to you, “I have 60 people in my downline. How many do you have”? I smile and say, “For me, it’s not all about numbers, it’s about having an active team. I would rather have 10 productive team members or leaders in my downline than accumulate 100 members in my downline but are inactive”.
If a networker focuses on building masses fast, they will lose their way. They will not have time to build relationships with the new recruits and guide them to success. I believe in building one (or fewer and manageable) relationship(s) at a time. Pace yourself so that you have enough time for the new recruits and see that they are on the right path before moving on to the next.
Ways to build a relationship with your MLM downline members… 1. Keep in touch with your downline regularly
Communicate regularly with your downlines. Give them anything valuable that will develop them holistically.
2. Teach them your success tricks
Show them what makes you tick! Teach them your success tricks without fearing they will be better than you. Their success is your success!
3. Give them a duplicable system that they too can pass on to their downlines
Share with them your system that is duplicable several levels deep. This system should be simple and easily applicable by anyone and everyone in the team. Both online and offline team members should be able to use your system.
4. Be accessible
Your downlines should be able to contact you. Avail your email address or telephone number where they can reach you easily.
5. Be approachable
You should make your downlines feel comfortable so they are free to contact you. Your MLM team is like family to you. You help each other succeed and achieve your goals.
Build strong relations with your downlines and your business will succeed. You will have far less dropouts because your team members trust you and can count on you for your support.
